Mandella Soone was born into a wealthy family in the space colony Side 3. As a child, he was fascinated by the stories of the Gundam War and the heroic pilots who fought in it. When he was old enough, he joined the Earth Federation Forces and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a skilled mobile suit pilot.
